Current Updates
We have now opened our Adoption House! We are working towards making more space for the pups if that’s that’s God‘s will! We are currently a Foster-based Rescue.
We are doing our part in helping West and East Feliciana in decreasing the stray dog population, and owner surrenders. If you are in need of assistance, just give us a call, send an email or message us through social media!
We are actively looking for fosters and/or volunteers- please fill out an application! We would love to have you!

To create happy tales for companion animals in need, and to build a humane community that promotes compassion and seeks to strengthen the human-animal bond.
To provide the opportunity to save lives, end animal suffering, and ensure animal wellness; building a community where people value companion animals as lifelong cherished family members and treat them with respect and kindness.

How We Started
There is no short answer to how we started The Happy Tail Rescue! I had a good friend who helped me see how important is was to keep pushing forward to save as many as we can. Let’s face it I was terrified to even begin but looking back now I see the plan God had all along and blessed for a very good friend who had Faith in me when I didn’t know we could do it. God opened doors we didn't even know were there and we are Always giving the Glory to God!
We are a No-Kill 501 C-3 Rescue
A no-kill rescue is an animal rescue that does not kill healthy or treatable animals even when the shelter is full, reserving euthanasia for terminally ill animals or those considered dangerous to public safety.
